Starting with opposites- Big and small!

Here we are making elephants for the word BIG and little piggies for the word small.

the methodology is the same...

Step 1: First you will need earthen pots of 2 sizes. smaller for pigs and bigger for elephants.
Step 2: Paint the pots grey for elephants and pink for pigs.
Step 3: Draw faces of pigs and elephants onto chart paper, paint them and decorate them and stick them onto your pot.
Step 4: Don't forget tails!!! make tails out of chart paper and stick them at the back of the pot.
Step 5: Create feet out of clay and paint them and stick them at the bottom of your animals. As you can see in the picture.
Step 6: Well your animals are ready. Now these pots can be used as pencil stands.. or as we have done as pots. We filled it with mud and planted seeds in it allowing it to flower. So you get crazy animal pots for your night stand. :)

the same thing can be done with earthen piggie banks...

Hope you enjoy making these colorful pot animals!!!

Sea animals!!

Sea animals that we are going to make are a fish and an octopus. These are things that can be easily made by kids for a class project!!

One of the most striking things about a fish are its scales.

Step 1: Trace a picture of your favorite fish on a piece of chart paper.
Step 2: Color the picture with crayons and make a black outline.
Step 3: Take some macaroni and paint them in different colors. Like in the picture above green, blue, orange and red are used.
Step 4: Stick the colored macaroni onto the fish and give it the shape of scales.

 Your colorful fish is ready!!!

                                  The octopus is yet simpler!!

Step 1: Draw the picture of an octopus on a chart paper and outline it with a black marker.
Step 2: Finger painting can be done by children to make dots on the octopus.
Step 3: Stick thermocol balls on it at distances to make your octopus really come alive.

This is something a child would really enjoy making!! have fun!!!
